As a downtown Church, FPC Troy strives to reach out to the community providing help in a variety of ways. Take a look at some of the mission work that we do.
Breakfast is provided to those in need Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. Volunteers prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes for guests each day along with hot coffee and conversation.
Back to School brings about many needs for families in the community. Through a loving congregation we are able to provide clothing, back packs, school supplies, and school fees for over 100 students in our community.
Nonperishable food is collected in the month of November and delivered to the local food pantry to be distributed in time for Thanksgiving.
During the month of December, we collect hats, gloves, scarves, and warm socks for school aged children. The collected items are then delivered to local elementary schools to be distributed to students in need.
The First Presbyterian Church Mission Committee works throughout the year to provide needs for the local community in a variety of ways. When a need is discovered, the Committee addresses the need in whatever way they are able to help. Various Mission Collections: Various collections are taken throughout the year for the local food pantry in terms of nonperishable food and paper products. There is also a collection drive in February for personal hygiene items that are distributed to our Breakfast Club guests on a monthly basis.
At FPC we believe that Christian Education is a lifelong journey and we offer a variety of opportunities for Bible studies throughout the year.
Lenten study groups are offered during the Lenten Season and are usually based on a whole Church study.
Bible Studies are offered at various times of the year and are led by the Pastor.
Women's studies are held throughout the week on various days and times.
Men's group meets at various locations offsite for coffee and conversation. Third 30: Third 30 meet on a monthly basis and cover a variety of topics related to individuals who are aged 60 and over.
